FORESTRY MULCHING – Fortec LTD offers professional forestry mulching services that are less intrusive and impactful than traditional land clearing methods, all designed to clear only the vegetation you want out while protecting the soil. Forestry mulching clears land without disturbing the topsoil, burning vegetation, or leaving large piles of dead material. Our methods do not erode the soil, and actually prevent erosion from happening. It also reduces the ability of new unwanted growth to come through while adding nutrients to the topsoil. What you’re left with after forestry mulching is flat, even land, perfect for agricultural uses, vegetation management, invasive species control, construction preparation, and so much more.

LAND CLEARING – The Fortec LTD crew will clear your land while protecting the economic and environmental value of the space. Right of way clearing is removing trees, bushes, and other growth that could prevent maintenance or installation crews from safely accessing utilities. Clearing out this growth before it can become a problem makes certain that it does not interfere with or bring down valuable infrastructure.

COMMERCIAL THINNING: Commercial thinning is the removal of the poorest quality trees from a mature, evenaged stand of trees. The purpose of this treatment is to give the remaining trees increased space and light so that they will grow faster.

Tree species that respond well to commercial thinning are usually longlived, shade-tolerant species including red spruce, hemlock, white pine, sugar maple, yellow birch white ash and red oak.
